Plano, Texas Dentist Mark Sowell, DDS Attends Continuing Education Programs for Cosmetic Dentistry

Tuesday, July 21st, 2015

Plano, TX (PRWEB) May 21, 2015

In April, Dr. Sowell attended a two-day hands-on course in implant dentistry at the Spear Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. The intensive course covered the essentials of treatment planning, placement and restoration of dental implants in both simple and complex implant reconstructions.

“Dental implants are an important component of my dental practice,” said Dr. Sowell. “It is important to stay on the leading edge of implant dentistry by practicing the latest techniques and gaining exposure to the newest materials available.”

Following the dental implant training, Dr. Sowell attended the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s (AACD) 31st Annual Scientific Session, in San Francisco. Dr. Sowell has been an Accredited Member of the AACD since 2002 and is the only accredited cosmetic dentist in Plano, Texas.

“Many patients are surprised to learn that the American Dental Association does not recognize cosmetic dentistry as a specialty and that there is no formal training requirement to call oneself a cosmetic dentist. Becoming an accredited member of the AACD was important to me to distinguish myself as an experienced and skillful cosmetic dentist,” said Dr. Sowell.

The AACD is the world’s largest international dental organization dedicated to advancing excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry through responsible esthetics.

The conference featured more than 48 hands-on workshops, 85 lectures, and 100 speakers. Roughly 2,000 dental professionals attended the event, which is geared toward dentists, lab technicians, hygienists, and dental team members to help them refine their skills, learn the latest techniques, and share ideas.

“The courses I’ve completed are extremely intense,” said Dr. Sowell. “Beyond the high level of clinical education offered, these are unique opportunities to spend time with colleagues and gain exposure to the latest materials and techniques in cosmetic and implant dentistry.”

Monday, April 27th, 2015

Amherst, NY (PRWEB) April 06, 2015

Dr. James Lesinski is an experienced dentist in Amherst, NY, who offers cutting-edge dental procedures including dental implants to his patients. He is proud to announce that he and his Complete Health Dentistry team will be participating in a 10K event on Saturday, April 11, 2015. The event is designed to promote awareness for combatting hunger in local communities.

Dr. Lesinski is proud to contribute his time to raising awareness to combatting hunger, during the Run 10 Feed 10 event in April. The 10K event is designed to support the Feed Foundation and minimize hunger in local neighborhoods. Money raised during registration and through fundraising efforts is donated to local communities, in an effort to feed hungry families and individuals.

In addition to combatting local hunger, Dr. Lesinski and his team also serve the community by providing top-quality dental services and procedures. Patients who are missing teeth can receive top-quality titanium dental implants from his practice. Implants are an ideal alternative to dentures because they are anchored directly into the jawbone. This ensures that they will not need to be secured in place with paste, and they will not make embarrassing clicking sounds or fall out during a meal. Patients who receive implants typically report that they feel and look like natural teeth. Additionally, implants are designed with very durable materials that make them a permanent solution for lost teeth, with proper care.

Patients with crooked teeth or other cosmetic issues can also receive cutting-edge, corrective treatment options from Dr. Lesinski’s practice. Many patients like to have the option of receiving traditional, affordable braces. However, patients who are embarrassed about the conspicuousness of traditional braces can opt to receive invisible corrective devices such as Invisalign® from Dr. Lesinski.

Dr. Lesinski encourages patients who are looking for a dentist in Amherst, NY, to visit his practice website at http://www.completehealthdentistryofwny.com to find out more about dental implants and the other services he provides.

Visage nominated for the 2014 Dentistry Awards

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014

Glasgow (PRWEB UK) 14 October 2014

Glasgow-based cosmetic dental experts Visage have been nominated for three prestigious accolades at the 2014 Dentistry Awards in London including Best Team Scotland, Best Practice and brand new award Best Patient Care. The multi-award winning clinic announced the nomination on their blog saying, “We are always over the moon when another awarding body notices our work and puts us forward for an award – or, in the case of the 2014 Dentistry Awards, three awards!”

This timely recognition coincides with several articles over the summer from eminent journals as diverse as The Telegraph and Hello magazine, discussing how the state of our teeth directly affects our confidence to get on with our lives. In fact a recent survey (BUPA 2012) showed that a remarkable 63% of people believe having bad teeth can prevent a person from finding a partner. Over half of respondents believed that good teeth can help an individual get a better job, while almost 50% believed nice teeth help people make more friends. Researchers from Deakin University in the US also found that poor dental health increased the likelihood of a person being depressed.

None of this, of course, comes as any surprise to the nation’s dentists. The cosmetic dental industry has grown dramatically in recent years, with the value of cosmetic dentistry increasing by 34% between 2009 and 2013.

Award-nominees Visage believe that dental implants will become the treatment of choice for patients who have lost one, several or indeed all of their natural teeth. Dental implants can be used to support a single crown, a bridge containing two or more teeth or a denture covering the entire upper or lower jaw. The technology involved has progressed at such a rate that implants are now easier to place and last much longer than in the past. On top of this, cosmetic dentistry is seen as a much more affordable and socially-acceptable solution to serious teeth problems. And, as the experts at Visage are keen to point out, treatment completion times have reduced dramatically, making it easier for patients to improve their looks without any major impact on their lives.

The results for the 2014 Dentistry Awards will be announced in December. In the meantime you can learn more about Visage’s previous nominations and awards at their online Awards Gallery.

New Albany Aesthetic Dentistry Expert Gives 4 Tips on What To Do With A Canker or Cold Sore

Thursday, August 28th, 2014

NEW ALBANY, IN (PRWEB) August 28, 2014

New Albany dentist Dr. Ron Receveur treats and cures serious dental issues, including replacing missing teeth, diagnosing oral cancer and curing gum disease at his New Albany contemporary dental implant center.

That leaves some patients reluctant to mention “small” problems, like biting their lip or gums and the sores that doing so leaves behind.

“But some of these sores aren’t necessarily caused by the bite,” Dr. Receveur said. “The patient may have discovered the canker or cold sore by biting it.”

Dr. Receveur has four tips if you have a canker or cold sore:

First, rinse your mouth with warm salt water or put ice on the spot where you bit your cheek, lip or tongue.

Second, apply a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water or baking soda and water to the sore.

Third, if a canker sore doesn’t disappear after two weeks, ask your doctor to check you for a vitamin B12 or folate deficiency. If a cold sore doesn’t disappear after two weeks, ask your doctor if antiviral medicine could help you.

Finally, see your dentist. If you regularly bite your lips, cheek or tongue, you may have misaligned teeth. That goes for natural teeth, partials or dentures.

Dr. Receveur, who practices in New Albany, Ind., across the Ohio River from Louisville, Ky., offers Louisville cosmetic dentistry services and general dentistry such as teeth cleanings, X-rays, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, teeth whitening and veneers.

Dr. Receveur also is an expert in more advanced implant dentistry like All on Four dental implants, All on Six dental implants, mini dental implants, dental implants in one day, dental implants in one hour, bone grafting and sinus lifts, all with IV sedation dentistry.

Dr. Receveur offers a five-year warranty on all cosmetic and prosthetic work.

Dr. Receveur, a New Albany, native, has been the family dentist of choice for Southern Indiana and Louisville since 1981.

Dr. Receveur was born with a partial cleft palate that left him with a missing front tooth. As a child he “wore an awful removable partial.” As a teenager, Dr. Receveur received a permanent bridge, but his dentist destroyed one of his healthy, natural teeth in the process. These dental experiences helped drive him to find better dental solutions for his patients.

Dr. Receveur graduated from Indiana University Southeast with honors in chemistry, after which he earned his doctorate in Dental Surgery from the Indiana University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Receveur has attended more than 5,000 hours of postgraduate training and even gone to Portugal to study with the best dentists in the world. He has been awarded numerous advanced certifications in Implant, Sedation, Comprehensive, Restorative and Aesthetic dentistry so he may provide the most current dental techniques to his Louisville and New Albany dental patients.
